For 36 years I have worked as a manager. My career began as a project engineer in a consortium AEG/Hochtief/General Electric for building a power plant, and ended as a member of the board of Mitteldeutsche Energie AG. I look back on a good and interesting time with ever changing challenges and sometimes turbulent situations. Comparatively little routine is what makes the charm of this job. But I also came to know its flip side: tough hurdles, obvious difficulties, and lurking pitfalls.
In the following book (also downloadable as an e-book) I wrote down my experiences, including the discovery that yoga helps to overcome difficulties – not as weights, but by establishing an attitude of lightness in life. I would like to recommend these findings warmly to mainly young managers, who in their commitment may sacrifice their quality of life, or may even fail.
The detailed explanations on yoga were written by Jayadev Boris Jaerschky, who has been living and teaching yoga for over 25 years.
